Boys’ Latin took advantage by scoring five goals in a span of 1:28. Including four extra man opportunity goals Freshman Brendan Grimes ripped in three, Brandon Crouse,

“It was a really big hit and it was dirty so we came back on that,” said Grimes who finished the day with five goals. “We buried them.”

After the game, Severn coach Jamie McNealey even admitted the hit on Shilling was the turning point. But the Admirals didn’t give up as Severn would chip away at the Boys’ Latin lead.

Boys’ Latin led Severn at halftime, 6–4.

Severn tied the game on Ben Bedards third goal in the second quarter at 3–3. Then Ey gave Boys’ Latin the one-goal lead. Followed by a dazzling couple goals by junior long pole Michael Ubriaco who put the Lakers up by three-goals, the goal that made it 6–3, Ubriaco picked up the loose ball off the faceoff and went right to the cage and ripped it in for the score.

Boys’ Latin hadn’t played a game since last Tuesday (lost to St. Anthony’s N.Y. 12–9) and Shilling said the week of preparation had the Lakers clicking on a cylinders. “I know each and every one of my brothers have my back.
